Among the many thousands of replies regarding the cancellation of Wacken Open Air 2020 there were also some from fans who made a truly generous offer: "Keep my W:O:A 2020 ticket and the money, I'll buy a regular one for 2021 and support you in this way"

These offers have left us speechless and humbled. We are very grateful for it! But at the same time we want to put this money on the right track. That means: back into the community.

For several years now, there has been an annual fundraising campaign in our official Facebook fan group. The volunteer admin team there collects money to support various good causes. For example, tickets are bought through us and donated to fans who for various reasons cannot afford to visit the festival. We have already supported this action in the past, for example by rounding up the tickets.

For the W:O:A 2021 this will now become an official campaign! When refunding W:O:A 2020 tickets you have the option to donate your ticket. Afterwards a W:O:A 2021 ticket will be reserved for you and additionally the money from your W:O:A 2020 ticket will be used to buy a W:O:A 2021 ticket for another fan. For example for someone, who lost his job due to the current crisis. Whether you buy a W:O:A 2021 ticket for yourself or not is up to you. You can also make a pure donation. But in any case it is reserved for you.

The selection of the eligible recipients will be done as usual by the volunteer admin team.  The following applies: Fans who are to receive a ticket do not register for it on their own. They are nominated anonymously by their friends and acquaintances. The e-mail address for the nominations will be announced in the next weeks.

The number of donated tickets will be rounded up by us at the end of the refund period.

This is metal! We are very happy about the decision of the W:O:A-Team to set a sign here. Fans support fans and the promoter is setting the course for this - something like this only happens in Wacken. The fact that we as a fan organization got the task to take care of this process is a great sign of trust for us.
